The entry fee of $10 will include a big lunch at 2pm and 1 General Raffle Ticket.  You will get additional raffle tickets for each rabbit (max 5).  There will also be a prize for the heaviest rabbit (we will gut the rabbit!).

We will also have a separate Muzzleloader Raffle.  Tickets are $5 each or 5 tickets for $20.  This is only open to Rabbit hunting contestants.

Well he’s back and successful!

If you haven’t heard his story yet, you better get into the store and ask because it’s a doozy!  I don’t think there’s a webpage long enough to hold that story!  However, I will say it’s a 2 arrow story.

Only Ozone kills 99.9% of bacteria!

1. 1. Arrow Shaft Length-The arrow length should match the compound bow to get the best arrow flight. If the arrow is too short for the bow the arrow might slip off the rest when it is pulled back and hurt the hunter. Also the arrow cannot be too long for the compound bow because then the arrow is too heavy which affects the distance the compound bow is able to shoot.

2. Spine-This is the stiffness of the shaft. When an arrow is released the thrust of the bow string causes the arrow shaft to bend. The arrow’s spine strength should match the compound bow’s draw weight to get the best accuracy.

Biggest Bird Contest

Next is the Biggest Bird winner. Congratulations to Tom Perrin! This beauty was 22#, had 1 1/4″ spurs, and each of the THREE BEARDS measured 11 1/8″, 7 1/4″, and 2 1/2″. His son, Luke, won the Biggest Bird Contest last year, so we have started an investigation to see if, maybe, they are hunting inside John Ball Zoo. I’ll be sure to keep you posted…
