Haleigh Pease

Customer Service

Haleigh’s passion for shooting sports began at a young age, from BB guns and sporting clays to picking up a bow and arrow at just 9 years old. Her love for archery quickly grew, and she spent six years competing in a church-based program that laid the foundation for her skills and discipline in the sport. She went on to join a competitive archery team that developed from that same program, shooting throughout high school and participating in numerous tournaments—including state-level competitions and the prestigious IBO World Championships. In 2023, Haleigh took her dedication to the next level by purchasing her first professional target bow and competing in both IBO and ASA tournaments. On January 4, 2025, she earned her Basic Archery Instructor certification through NASP. Today, she volunteers as a range instructor for the original church program that started it all and proudly coaches the Robinson Baptist West Michigan Centershot Team. Haleigh is passionate about mentoring young archers and helping others grow in the sport she loves.

Her interest in archery truly took shape in 2013 when she began working at Grand Valley Sporting Goods while attending Grand Valley State University. After earning her degree, McKenna spent nine years as a dedicated special education teacher. Recently, she made the decision to return to her roots—both in the outdoors and at the bowshop—where she now serves in a clerical role at Grand Valley Sporting Goods. McKenna is married and a proud mom of four young boys. One of her greatest joys is watching her sons grow to love the outdoors just as she did.

Curt White

Bow Technician, Customer Service

Curt grew up in a small town where schools closed for opening day of deer season and hunter safety was part of everyday life. He first picked up a bow at age ten and quickly became hooked, often sneaking his dad’s longbow out to practice in the backyard whenever he had the chance. He began competing in local club leagues with his uncle, which only deepened his passion. That early experience led him to numerous indoor and outdoor competitions, eventually earning pro staff positions and certification as an archery coach. While he no longer holds those titles, he continues to enjoy shooting and sharing his knowledge of the sport. He harvested his first deer with a bow in Allendale at his grandparents’ home—a memorable eight-point buck. Most of his hunting experience has taken place across Michigan, though he still hopes to one day check a Colorado elk off his bucket list. When he’s not hunting, Curt enjoys fishing year-round, whether on open water or through the ice. These days, he is focused on passing his passion on to his family. He recently bought his two young daughters their first bows, and you’ll often find them practicing together at the range on weekends. Teaching them and helping them develop a love for archery has been especially rewarding. Curt has been a regular at Grand Valley Sporting Goods since it first opened and is excited to now be part of the team.
